Nantipa was born from a simple idea: Costa Rica deserved a beachfront hotel that felt both luxurious and deeply local. In 2010, three Costa Rican friends — Harry, Luis, and Meni — saw an opportunity in Santa Teresa, a vibrant coastal town known for its surf culture, creative energy, and growing culinary scene. It was the perfect place to create something different: intimate, authentic, and connected to its surroundings.
With decades of experience in hospitality, the founders envisioned a boutique hotel that redefined Costa Rican luxury — one built sustainably, designed with local talent, and rooted in the community. Nantipa was created for travelers who seek meaningful experiences over big-name chains. The rest is something you have to experience for yourself.

From the very beginning, Nantipa was designed to be more than a hotel — it was meant to be part of the Santa Teresa community. We work with local artisans, source ingredients from nearby farms, and employ talented people from the region.
